Nokia Email on E71
Yesterday I talked about syncing contacts and calender on my E71. Today I will talk a bit about my email solution. When I had Exchange Hosted email I was using the default mail client. It was OK but it did not have HTML email and rendered the it badly.
When I moved to Hosted Gmail I wanted to check out other email clients too. I could not find any free apps that supported HTML email!! This is 2009 and we still do not have HTML email! Anyway here are a few email options on the Nokia E71:
- Built-in mail client – It sucks
- Gmail Mobile – Google’s official client. Nice, supports multiple accounts and can view attachments. No HTML email though and not a native client.
- emoze – Push email. I have not tried this though.
- Seven – This is in beta. They might charge later. Supports Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo. Supports contacts and calendar too.
- Nokia Email – Nokia knows its built-in client sucks? Supports Yahoo, Gmail, IMAP and POP3. Not HTML yet, but on the way.
I have currently using Nokia Email client. It is way better than the built-in client. It delivers email instantly. Even with out HTML support it renders mail better than most clients I have checked. Since this is a native client so it is fast and integrates with the home screen.
I hope the add HTML support soon.
